From 2011 through 2024, the School of Choice / L'Ecole de Choix served Haiti through its high-quality elementary school and graduate education program for
students in grades 1 through 13.
While we graduated our final class of 6th graders in Summer 2024, we continue to provide this high quality leadership development education to young adults living in Haiti’s extreme conditions of poverty through our continuing academic excellence program for our Choix graduates, in service of our mission.

NOTRE MISSION
To partner with Haitians to educate and develop Haitian youth to lead their communities, Haiti and the world.
FAIRE UN DONThe Choix Legacy:
Our Elementary Program
For families living in the poorest country in the Western hemisphere, Choix always has been more than a school. It has been a place where students received an exceptional education and an opportunity to learn the skills they needed to become future leaders of Haiti. Our objective was to provide them with a quality education, so that they would be able to support themselves and their families, to educate their own children, and thereby to end the cycle of poverty.
2024 and Beyond:
Haiti’s Reality of Inhumane Conditions
Transportation of vital goods and supplies has been paralyzed
% of haitians experiencing food insecurity (per wfp)
% OF children with stunted growth (and many more have irreversible physICAL / developmental delays)
% of women and girls subject to one or more instances of gender-based violence (4 out of 5)
26,000
# of haitians deported from the united states back to haiti in 2023
4,200,000
# of children deprived of education due to cost, insecurity, and lack of infrastructure and staff
The Lasting Impact of Choix’s Elementary Program
Notwithstanding the loss of the elementary program, we acknowledge the positive impact that every single day at Choix has had on our students and, therefore, on our community. We know that impact is lasting, and we hope that everyone touched by their years at Choix will use that experience to inspire others.
Even one day or one year at Choix is a foundation for their knowledge. We must value every day of every school year.

Choix Today: The Graduate Program
We are dedicated to remaining in solidarity with our graduates, some of whom have been with Choix since our inception and practically all of whom started in Choix’s 1st grade.
As long as we are financially capable, we will protect and preserve what now remains of Choix’s legacy through a program that has demonstrated exceptional impact throughout our lengthy history:
Our after-school academic excellence program
for our Choix graduates.
This program for qualified Choix grads in grades 7-13 (philo) includes tutoring, mentoring, social, emotional and health education, and personal development; and has led to measurable success year after year. For example, participating Choix graduates have a 100% success rate on national exams compared to a 54% passing rate for students in our region
